Father Mark LewisPastor of Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church

Father Mark Lewis Biography.

“Father Lewis is known across the Ordinariate for his pastoral wisdom, spirit of hospitality, and keen administrative gifts. We are confident he will bring the same qualities of kindness and vision to his service to the faithful of Our Lady of the Atonement… “

The Most Rev. Steven J. Lopes, Bishop of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter

Father Mark Lewis comes to Our Lady of the Atonement parish from St. Luke’s Parish in Washington, D.C., which is the first former Episcopal parish congregation to be received into the Catholic Church for the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.  Father Lewis was the rector of then St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and on October 9, 2011, Fr. Lewis and the Episcopal parish of approximately 70 members were received into communion with the Catholic Church at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Father Lewis was ordained to the Catholic priesthood on June 23, 2012 by Donald Cardinal Wuerl, and is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in 1998 and received a Master of Divinity from Nashotah House Seminary in 2001.  He is married to his wife, Vickey, and has two grown children and one grandchild.
